<![CDATA[2023 Ski Season]]>Wed, 21 Jun 2023 18:11:18 GMThttp://rockyviewwaterskicentre.ca/on-the-water/2023-ski-seasonWe're back for another year on the water. Early season heat gave us the opportunity for an early start this year. The recent rain was needed - but won't stick around for long. With a sunny weekend ahead, expect lots of interest in getting back onto the course.

Members, remember to get your fees, proof of WSWA membership and signed waivers in to Mark before you start skiing. ]]>

<![CDATA[2021 Waterski Season Begins!]]>Wed, 02 Jun 2021 13:44:07 GMThttp://rockyviewwaterskicentre.ca/on-the-water/2021-waterski-season-beginsOur 2021 waterski season officially begins today! With 30C temperatures forecast for the next few days, it is time to get out to the lake and wash some of that winter rust off.

If you haven't already, you must register with WSWA and have a signed Waterski Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) waiver on file with the club. Our insurance agreement prohibits anyone from skiing until both are in place.

A couple of reminders for the season:
 • Tarp the boat when finished skiing
 • If you haven't driven at the club, please take a no-wake ride around the course to understand where water levels are low. Follow that up with a couple of passes at speed as the sensation going around the islands and Perfect Pass response to corners takes a little getting used to.
 • New members/drivers must go through a boat and driving familiarization with one of the longer standing members prior to getting a shack key.
 • If it is too windy to drive the boat onto the lift, guide it on by hand.
 • Mike has sent out the current member list if you are looking for someone to ski with.

Get out there and kick off meteorological summer with a rip around the course!

If you have a dry suit please bring it.

Also, if anyone has a trailer that we can use to take debris to the dump, please bring that with you. We have to remove the material from the old structure. See you all on Saturday.

<![CDATA[2021 Waterski Season Coming Soon]]>Sun, 09 May 2021 06:00:00 GMThttp://rockyviewwaterskicentre.ca/on-the-water/2020-waterski-season-coming-soonOur 2021 AGM was held Saturday, May 8. All old and new business was addressed and minutes will be sent shortly.

The next step to getting the season started will be getting the lift into place and the course laid out. Our tentative plan is to have a Club Lake Day on Saturday, May 15 (weather permitting) to get this work done. Watch for an email from Mike with more details. ]]>
<![CDATA[2018 Waterski Season Begins]]>Sun, 27 May 2018 14:24:45 GMThttp://rockyviewwaterskicentre.ca/on-the-water/2018-waterski-season-begins
Waterski season is nearly upon us once again. With fantastic sunny weather, it was time once again to get the club cleaned up and ready to go.

Every year seems to bring at least one big project and this year's was replacing the old top deck which was failing after many years of service.

Construction began early Victoria Day by moving a couple of massive beams in place for the foundation of the new deck.
Before long, many hands were on site to begin construction. It didn't take the crew too long to complete the new deck. It looks great and should serve the club for many years.

Thanks everyone for your help getting everything ready again this year. Hopefully, Mother Nature will continue to cooperate and provide us a long hot ski season.

<![CDATA[2016 Waterski Season]]>Thu, 07 Jul 2016 14:58:05 GMThttp://rockyviewwaterskicentre.ca/on-the-water/2016-waterski-seasonPicture
Waterski season is back with a bang in 2016. Weather has been great and our members are getting a lot of sets in already.

If you're struggling to find someone to get out on the lake with - pick up the phone. Chances are there is someone else just like you who needs a buddy to share the driving duties.

The season is short - make sure you get out and make the best of it!
